#ExAnimoAfterTheOpen

Well hello there ExAnimals

Our last mailer reached your inboxes just before we kicked off the CrossFit open of 2018 and here we are, 5 weeks later and its all over. What an amazingly enjoyable time we had. The spirit at the box was just awesome and we have you wonderful folks to thank for this

So to recap, 18.1 had us all breathless, 18.2 had the PB bell ringing continuously, 18.3 taught us that we need to practice double-unders, 18.4 left us all with achy backs 18.5 well let’s not talk about that one! On a serious note, the Ex Animo coaching team couldn’t be prouder of you guys, our rocking #ExAnimals.

Speaking of celebrations, we’re having a post open celebratory get together shindig. This is a cool opportunity for us to hang out with you and celebrate the end of an awesome 5 weeks. We’ve booked out the bar area at Possums for this wonderful occasion and we’ll be there on Friday 20 April from 18h00. Please join us for an awesome chill sesh, whether or not you took part in the open. Partners are welcome. Drinks and snacks for your own account, we will just buy a few fines for those who earned them.

Now that the open is over, keep an eye on other competitions coming up. We have 5 teams going to LMS in June. There are 3 teams competing at the Pretoria Throwdown and 6 & 7 April – go and watch them in action if you’re free. And there is a new competition in Knysna this year – 29 June to 1 July. Chat to the coaches if you’d like to get involved and we will help you enter (teams of 2)

Then, our schedule…due to popularity we have decided to add another EA Barbell slot. Our lifting sessions with our new coach Matt are going so well, we’ve gone and opened up an evening slot. Starting from May 2018, Matt will be taking another session on a Thursday evening from 5:00pm to 6:30pm. Space is limited so please remember to book. Open to all.

We wanted to also take this opportunity to appeal to our Ex animals’ more generous sides. One of our long standing members, Jess Cleland has taken it upon herself to support a worthy cause and get on her bike and ride from Senegal to Côte d’Ivoire. That’s 3000km folks! All of this is to raise funds for the recue dog organisation called Paws R Us – take a look at Jess’s progress and how you can help here. https://www.backabuddy.co.za/champion/project/west-africa-by-bike-for-paws-r-us. To support Jess with this, we’re having an Airdyne Challenge on 07 July 2018. We will give you more details closer to the time, please just keep the date open in your diaries.

Lastly, Admin Admin Admin. We have set up a new email inbox to which all admin, finance and membership queries will be going to. All administrative queries have previously been sent to Bronwyn directly. From now onwards, please direct any and all administrative queries to, you guessed it, admin@cfxa.co.za.

Keep well guys and see you at Possums
