We are Ex Animo

The Latin phrase ‘Ex Animo’ means ‘From the Heart’. The owners and coaches at CrossFit Ex Animo believe that anything done right, needs to be done with passion and commitment. It is with these core principles in mind that we founded Ex Animo – a vibrant home for like-minded individuals who are seeking to combine fitness and friendships with loads of fun.

The personal coaching we provide will push you further than you thought possible, in a manner that considers performance and results, as well as your safety.

Welcome to CrossFit Ex Animo where fitness is forged ‘From the Heart’.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need to be fit to start?

No. Start where you are. We will help you build your strength and fitness and achieve whatever goals you have, whether it’s weight loss, getting stronger, becoming a competitive athlete or just getting that first pull up. We have clients across all levels of fitness, from those just starting out with exercise to athletes at their peak fitness. There is a place for you.

As a female, will I get bulky?

The pictures you see when you Google CrossFit are generally the top athletes in the world. Those women are training twice a day, eating enough to feed a family and dedicating their lives to their sport. By training once a day and eating a balanced diet, you won’t bulk up. You will become toned and shapely and who wouldn’t want that right?

Does CrossFit help for other sports?

Absolutely. One of the best parts about CrossFit is the way it prepares you for everything else in life, whether it’s a triathlon, surfing or going hiking or even playing for longer with your kids. You will be ready for anything and everything. CrossFit is about being ready not only for the unknown, but the unknowable.

Will the coaches shout at me?

No, our coaches are friendly, supportive and highly knowledgeable. They will challenge you to step out of your comfort zone, but always with a smile, and in a safe way.

Is CrossFit a cult?

No. It’s a community, and one of the best communities you will ever be a part of. You will make friends with the people you train with, you will find people encouraging you, cheering for you, picking you up off the floor after a tough workout and celebrating every success along the way. Your level of involvement is completely up to you.
